Location

Ali Smith

The Open University in Scotland is pleased to support this free online event as part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival 2020.

Four years on from when she read a passage at the 2016 Edinburgh International Book Festival ahead of the launch of Autumn, Ali Smith’s Seasonal Quartet reaches its conclusion with the arrival of Summer.

A stand-alone novel, this fourth book will resonate with readers already familiar with Autumn, Winter or Spring, picking up on the intertwining experiences of several characters who appear in the earlier works.

For this event, Smith has written a new essay. Working with that essay, artist Sarah Wood has created a 15-minute film which we will show just once: it will not be available to view again after this single live screening.

Afterwards, Ali Smith will answer audience questions about Summer and the Seasonal Quartet.

This event is free and available to watch on the Book Festival's website. You can go to the Ali Smith & Sarah Wood event webpage and click on 'Save my place', to recieve an email reminder just before the event.
