Wednesday, April 10, 2019 - 11:00 to 16:00

The Experimentarium returns for Science Festival 2019, with some weird, wonderful and cutting-edge science.  Step into our laboratory of hands-on activities and interactive fun for all ages.

See a meteorite of lunar origin, official outreach samples of lunar rock and online high-resolution microscopy using both a virtual microscope and a remote-access microscope with The Open University.

The 'See for Yourself OpenSTEM Labs' exhibit features real and online interaction with material from the lunar surface. Images will be displayed on a large screen rather than viewed through an eyepiece.

This is a free drop-in activity for all the family. It is part of the special hands-on science zone running on two days. There is more information on the Edinburgh Science Festival website

You can find more information about Moons and our Solar system on our free learning website OpenLearn.
