Care experienced students have helped develop a new free Open University course which will support staff in Scotland’s universities to better understand and support those who have experienced care.

Skills Development Scotland has introduced the portal with the support of the OU in Scotland providing access to its award-winning OpenLearn platform of free courses.
While people across Scotland are staying at home and social distancing, the OU has hundreds of free online courses to help stay informed, engaged and entertained. OpenLearn is the OU’s home for learning online; all the courses are free and there are no entry requirements or start and end dates.
The First Minister of Scotland has presented a lifelong learning award sponsored by the OU in Scotland, to John McAlinden of the Communication Workers Union.
