David Raeburn

David Raeburn has had a long and distinguished career as a teacher in schools and universities and as a translator and director of Greek plays. He is also the author of books on tragedy and joint author of a commentary on Aeschylus’ Agamemnon. He has worked extensively with school and university students at summer schools. In this interview he looks back on his career and comments on his current work and future plans.

Kimberley Sykes

Kimberley Sykes is a theatre director who has directed a variety of stage works over the last ten years. She has worked with several theatre companies including the RSC, the Donmar Warehouse and the National Theatre. In this interview she discusses her role as director of the 2017 RSC production of Dido, Queen of Carthage.

Chipo Chung

Chipo Chung is a Zimbabwean-Chinese actress and activist based in London. She has worked on a suite of television and theatrical productions over the last fifteen years. On television she has featured in Dr Who, AD The Bible Continues and Into the Badlands. In this interview she discusses her performance as Dido in the 2017 RSC production of Dido, Queen of Carthage.

Michael Ewans

Michael Ewans is Conjoint Professor of Drama at the University of Newcastle, Australia. He specialises in translating Greek tragedy and comedy, directing plays and chamber operas, and writing books and articles which explore how operas and dramas work in the theatre. In this piece for Practitioners' Voices in Classical Reception Studies, he presents a new performing translation of Theocritus 2 ('Love Magic').
