Employer webinar: How can HR and L&D equip employees to face the climate emergency?

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) is a crucial event for determining the fate of our planet, as world leaders come together to agree on actions for bringing climate change under control.

At this pivotal moment in time, it’s critical for organisations to consider how the climate emergency will impact their business and its people, and build a strategy to equip colleagues with the appropriate tools, support and skill sets required.

To explore the role of HR and L&D in addressing climate change, HRZone and The Open University will be hosting a roundtable discussion with Chartered Psychologist Dr Volker Patent, L&D expert Nicki Davey and Director of HR & Inclusion at the Eden Project, Dawn George.

The discussion will focus on how people professionals can provide employees with the tools to respond to change, crisis and disruption. We will also explore why applied psychology is important for crisis management and how L&D professionals also have a role to play in the fight for a greener future.

Key discussion points include:

  • Key learnings from the pandemic to help HR and L&D devise future strategies for the climate crisis
  • Examples of how applied psychology can help organisations boost adaptability and resilience during the climate emergency
  • The role of L&D in equipping employees with the skills to help tackle the impact of global warming
