The Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership unites Brunel University, The Open University and the University of Oxford. Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), it is one of 15 ESRC Doctoral Training Partnerships across the UK, providing postgraduate students with high-quality social science research training.

In 2024, it will be offering approximately 40 ESRC studentships for doctoral study on 23 pathways across the partner institutions. The Partnership is committed to a student-centred approach to research training, to widening access to postgraduate study, and to disciplinary and interdisciplinary research excellence.

DTP students receive financial support for living costs and tuitions fees as well as having access to additional funding to support activities such as fieldwork, conference attendance and training. A Master's qualification is not a prerequisite for a studentship from the Grand Union DTP, with training designed for individuals based on an assessment of their prior learning and training needs.

Sign up to find out more at the live Q&A webinar on 12th December at 14:00 (GMT) hosted by the DTP Director, Professor Rebecca Surender, and Associate Directors, Professor Louise Mansfield and Professor Steve Pile. The webinar will provide guidance about the application process and the opportunity to ask questions.

The link to Teams will be distributed on the 12th December 2023 at midday.
