Abstract

Cath Bishop will draw on her careers in Olympic sport and conflict diplomacy and current work in leadership development with a range of organisations to explore how our definitions and measures of success, personally and professionally, can hold us back.  Drawing on her acclaimed book ‘The Long Win: The search for a better way to succeed’, listed in the Financial Times’ top 10 best business books of 2020, Cath will share her insights into reframing what success looks like, shifting our mindsets, exploring intrinsic motivation and disrupting traditional measures of success, through her 3Cs approach: Clarifying what really matters over a longer time perspective stretching from today into the future, and away from merely the next short-term target; developing a Constant learning mindset to everything that we do, not just what comes up in examinations; and investing first and foremost in Connections, prioritizing people over tasks in the way we go about our daily lives.
