Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise Lead, School of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care and Deputy Chair for Carers Research Group: The Open University

Dr Jitka has researched and published extensively in the areas of mental health, ageing, dementia and ageing in relation to carers and her work addresses national, regional and local-level health and social care priorities. Her interdisciplinary research is oriented in four main directions: a) Health policy and planning: evaluation and improvement of health service delivery; and addressing the future health needs of communities; b) Public health / health of citizens and populations domain: improvement of outcomes for elderly persons & evidence base used for improving patient / student outcomes in health care; c) Education and improvement of skills, specifically, in members of public, practitioners, mental health professionals and carers; d) Development of evidence base in several areas of health and social care, more specifically ageing, dementia, lifelong learning and technology enhanced teaching & learning. Her expertise in public engagement and in co-creating the most conducive learning environments with the learners, facilitates learning being accessible, co-designed & co-created & co-disseminated with people with lived experience and led Jitka to her current roles as Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise Lead for the School of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care and Deputy Chair for Carers Research Group at The OU.
