Dr David Rothery is Professor of Planetary Geosciences at The Open University, where he teaches planetary sciences and works on the European Space Agency's BepiColombo mission to Mercury. Among his books are Planets: A Very Short Introduction and Moons: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press). David was one of the two OU academic consultants for the BBC's 2019 TV series 'The Planets'. He will describe what it is that fascinates him personally about planets (and other objects in the Solar System), and delve into some aspects that didn't make it into the TV series, or that came out slightly wrong.

This event will take place as part of the Northern Ireland Science Festival.
