Points to note

• chemical formulae follow regular patterns and as such it is straightforward to vary the elements involved yet still match the correct response
• the symbol for an element must be entered in the correct case e.g. magnesium is 'Mg' not 'mg'
• subscripts must also be properly applied; H₂O is correct but H2O is not
