Manchester's Hallé Orchestra has been performing classical music brilliantly for more than 150 years.
But in an age when audiences are increasingly accessing music digitally, the orchestra needed to gain expertise in new technologies, so it could increase audience numbers and generate new income streams.

Working with The Open University's Knowledge Media Institute on a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), the Hallé has embedded new technology in its organisation, significantly changing the way it interacts with its audience and engages new audiences, and greatly improving access to its performances.
