Imagine Festival 2023 - How to be a changemaker

Dates
Friday, March 24, 2023 - 19:00 to 20:30
Location
Accidental Theatre, 12 - 13 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast, BT2 7DB

We live in a time of multiple challenges – environmental, economic, political, social and health-related, amongst others. A time of global change.

How can ordinary people make a difference, politically and socially, to these challenges and others? How can we utilise the UK Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly to make change? How can we become ‘changemakers’?

This event will delve into political and social engagement by hearing first-hand experiences of local activists sharing their expertise, guidance and inspiration to all future changemakers, no matter how small the change.

This event will be hosted by Dr Róise Connolly, Lecturer in Law at The Open University Law School, who will interview local activists from a range of backgrounds, on effective campaigning, achieving positive change, and the qualities of a of an effective changemaker. The event will feature a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions of the panel.

The event will also launch ‘Introduction to making political and social change’ a new short course from The Open University’s free learning platform OpenLearn.
