Dr Siti Syuhaida Mohamed Yunus joined the Open University as a Research Associate for the EiF project in January 2023. Her research focuses on the environmental impacts of film production and focuses on the environmental impacts of the franchise's prop and costume making.
She joined academia in January 2020 after her PhD completed. She graduated from the University of York (PhD in Environmental Science). She researched the toxicity impacts of households’ pharmaceutical waste disposal in York, UK. Her first postdoctoral research was at Cranfield University and the research was on Greenhouse Gases Removals from Agricultural Activities in the UK and EU (Soils-R-GGReat). Then, she joined UEL as a Research Assistant for the ARENA project in June 2022. She holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and BSc (Honours) in Chemistry (Forensic Analysis) from the University of Technology MARA, Malaysia.
She is interested in the sustainability field and has been working in this field since 2013. Her expertise is in environmental analysis and metrics, environmental risk assessment and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for the assessment of environmental impacts and communication of Sustainability initiatives. She has experience in LCA and carbon footprinting for oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare equipment, waste management, the food industry and agriculture.
She is interested in teaching chemistry, environmental science, environmental management, and sustainability management. She used to teach master's programmes for environmental management and life cycle assessment modules.
