Professional biography

Jonathan Giddy is a doctoral reseracher (EdD) the PGCE science curriculum tutor in the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS)

Jonathan Giddy joined The Open University as Science Curriculum tutor in 2020 at the inception of the OU PT and salaried routes into teaching provided by the OU in Wales.  Jonathan designs, teaches and leads on the secondary science programme for ITE students as Wales.  Before becoming Science Curriculum tutor in 2020 Jonathan worked as a Science teacher in England and Wales, taking on a large number of roles and responsibilities. 

Combining 17 years of classroom teaching experience, his interests lie with the development of student-centred pedagogies, and specifically how ITE students use these pedagogies to implement the vision of Curriculum for Wales.
