Professional biography

I am an accomplished professional with over 16 years of Industry experience in developing, leading, and executing successful projects for renowned brands. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients across various industries, gaining deep insights into their businesses and designing solutions that drive tangible success. My passion lies in applying human-centred design principles and user experience best practices to challenge the status quo, foster innovation, and deliver value in underperforming areas.

As the Head of Human-Centred Design, I take pride in mentoring and leading a team of creative designers. I am committed to nurturing the careers of my four protégés, empowering them to excel in their professional journeys. Additionally, I am honoured to serve as a mentor for students at the Interaction Design Foundation, sharing my knowledge and expertise to guide them in their educational pursuits. Collaborating with Loughborough University, I provide valuable support to students working on their research projects, inspiring them to explore new horizons.

My skills and areas of interest encompass various design disciplines. I am well-versed in design ethics, design thinking, workshop design and facilitation, behavioural design, design management, service design, systems thinking, business architecture, and user experience. By leveraging this diverse skill set, I strive to make a meaningful impact on projects and organisations I work with.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to contribute, I am pursuing a doctorate in the Department of Design at The Open University. My research focuses on the intriguing realm of design ethics, specifically emphasising ethical decision-making in digital product design. In addition to my academic pursuits, I serve as a PGR (Postgraduate Research) student representative on the STEM Academic Committee, where I actively contribute to shaping the research landscape and enhancing the student experience.

With a successful career in industry and a steadfast dedication to research, I am passionate about bridging the gap between design practice and ethical decision-making in the digital domain. I aim to create a positive impact by promoting responsible and user-centred design practices that align with the highest ethical standards.
