Space Placements in INdustry (SPIN) scheme - 2018 projects now live

The Space Placements in INdustry scheme (SPIN) has been designed to provide an introductory link for those considering employment in the space sector and space sector organisations looking to find the most talented and enthusiastic people to ensure the future success of their businesses. The scheme is managed by the Institute for Environmental Analytics at the University of Reading and supported by the Satellite Applications Catapult and the UK Space Agency.

Projects for the summer of 2018 are now live. You will also be able to find them on the main SPIN website and on Twitter (using #SPIN18), Facebook and LinkedIn.

Questions regarding the scheme should be directed to spin@reading.ac.uk

SPIN Interns

Our SPIN interns 2017

In 2017 projects as diverse as using satellite data to track the disintegration of Antarctic Peninsula glacier Larsen C to the characterisation of UVIS spectrometer from in-flight data were taken up. Feedback from both the interns and their hosts was very positive with ongoing working links established in many cases.

Intern posters

As part of the scheme, interns were asked to produce a poster detailing the project they had undertaken. You can see what they got involved with here:
