Questionnaire responses continue to grow

We had a phenomenal response to our survey! 2,269 respondents have now completed the questionnaire in the first 4 weeks. But we are not complacent and the more people who fill out the questionnaire, the more we will be able to say about the diversity of ways in which people are experiencing long-term relationships, as well as anything that people who stay together have in common.

Project launch

The Enduring Love? project launch took place on Monday 16 January 2012 at The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Conference Rooms, County Hall, London.

Described as 'a triumph', the launch provoked some interesting thinking around how people experience, understand and sustain long-term couple relationships.

Participants at the project launch included policy makers, third sector organisations, academic researchers, media producers and journalists, and people who came along simply because they were interested in the subject!

The empirical research gets off to a great start

This is a great start but, of course, we'd like more contributions and especially from men. Why don't you take a few minutes now to fill out our completely anonymous questionnaire?

We have started the fieldwork and I visited 'my' first couple last week. How exciting. As part of the research, I am making a floor plan of the couple's home so today I feel like an architect, trying to get a hand-drawn sketch onto a computer screen. How does that work? My skills as a researcher are being extended in ways I never imagined!

The first feedback is in

The empirical research has really begun! More than 300 respondents have completed the questionnaire on SurveyMonkey in the first week. This is a great start but we need more. Why don't you get your views heard and fill out the Enduring Love? questionnaire?

Our big day is coming

It's our big day on Monday, 16 January 2012, when we officially launch the Enduring Love? project. We will meet with our 12 Strategy Group members in the morning to discuss the dissemination of our future findings. After lunch, we're expecting 68 participants for the official launch. We're delighted to have been able to get three speakers from three different sectors.

Let's start the conversation

On 9 November 2011 we completed the first round of interviews with 12 third sector organisations and government departments with interests in this area. The interviews aim was to ensure the policy and practice relevance of our work, establishing a dialogue that will be maintained through this blog and regular Strategy Group meetings.

The Enduring Love? research project started on Monday 12 September 2011.
