Susan Stewart, Director of The Open University in Scotland, is delighted to be chairing an event with author Clare Hunter, at the Cove & Kilcreggan Book Festival 2022.

Mary Queen of Scots has always exerted a strong fascination despite spending only 12 years in Scotland.

Clare Hunter, whose book 'Threads of Life' won a Saltire award and was a Radio 4 book of the week, turns her attention in 'Embroidering her truth: Mary, Queen of Scots and the Language of Power' to the legacy left by Mary in the textiles she inherited and worked on.

Tickets are £7.00 and can be booked on the Cove & Kilcreggan Festival's website.

There is a wide range of free learning on creative writing on the OU's OpenLearn site, such as 'Start Writing Fiction'
