Skills for Net Zero - Climate Perspectives

The Open University's Dr Victoria Hands and Professor Stephen Peake recently co-authored an article for Climate Perspectives summer 2023 edition (pages 28 - 31).  Each edition of Climate Perspectives brings thought leadership-only articles from business leaders, academics and policy experts. You can read the article online or in the images below.

The article is released during  Net Zero Week (1 – 7 July) for which The Open University is an official partner. As part of the awareness week, we are hosting an event on ‘Net Zero Skills and the Role of Universities’ on Thursday 6 July at 12 – 1pm.

This event will be an exciting discussion on how green skills and career pathways can be embedded into every sector, to help us meet our climate targets and ensure all people thrive in a zero-carbon economy.

The event will be a 60-minute panel discussion held online (MS Teams) and the panel will consist of both co-authors Dr Victoria Hands, Director of Sustainability (host) and Prof. Stephen Peake, Professor of Climate Change and Energy, as well as Dr Freya Wise, Visiting Fellow, Ramla Khan, PhD Student in School of Environment, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, and Charlotte Bonner, CEO at Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education (EAUC).

Please do register for the event here and join us for a great conversation.
