There are more than two hundred tutors teaching Open University creative writing courses across the UK and Europe. If you study creative writing at the OU your tutor will offer detailed feedback on your assessed writing, moderate an online forum where you and your fellow students will read and comment on each other’s work. They will run tutorials in which you will focus on particular writing issues and pieces of work, and support your reading and writing aims throughout the course.
These tutors are practising writers, each producing work in at least one of the genres taught on our courses – fiction, poetry, biography, memoir or dramatic scripts for stage, radio or film.
This is a news blog which aims to let people know about some of our tutors' writing activities – their publications, readings, performances and academic presentations. We hope you will find the blog illuminating and useful.
