Description
Shirley Brooks was a journalist and editor who also wrote a handful of novels and plays. He contributed to many popular magazines including the 'Illustrated London New's and the 'Literary Gazette'. He began writing for the satirical magazine 'Punch' in 1851 and in 1870 he became its editor, remaining in the post until his death four years later.
