Terms and Conditions

By booking with OU Trips, you are confirming you abide by the terms and conditions as stated below:

In these terms and conditions:

  1. “we” means the OU Trips Club (and “us” and “our”)
  2. “you” (or “your”) means trip goer (and extends to responsibility for all in the party attending an event)
  3. “booking” means a booking in respect to a day, weekend, or longer trip in the UK and Abroad.
  4. “force majeure event or unforeseen circumstances” means an event that is, or a series of related events that are, beyond our reasonable control.

Booking

  1. Bookings are made through our website, booking form or email
  2. The advertising of bookings on our website constitutes an “invitation to book” rather than a contractual offer and may be cancelled by us or you up until the advertised deadline.
  3. Booking deadlines are in place for your benefit
  4. You may change or withdraw from an event, within the deadlines specified in the original booking email.
  5. We may change the time and date of an event that is the subject of a booking by giving you written notice.  If we notify you of a change, we will also notify you of alternative options, giving you the right to cancel, where possible.
  6. You must inform us, without undue delay, of any issues in regard to your booking
  7. We reserve the right to accept or reject any changes you may request

Payment

  1. You agree to pay the price stated in your email for your booking on the due date
  2. You agree to pay the full amount required unless pre-arranged changes have been agreed
  3. Payments are made by Bank transfer only (Bacs)
  4. No cash will be paid to any committee member 

COVID-19

Both you and we acknowledge the ongoing COVID-19 global situation and accept our respective obligations to comply with any official guidance from governments, local authorities and Open University guidelines in the UK.

Circumstances Beyond our control (Force Majeure)

Circumstances beyond our control or Force Majeure Events are events that neither we nor the suppliers of any service(s) in question could, even with all due care, foresee or avoid.
This may include, without limitation:

  • war (whether actual or threatened)
  • civil unrest, riot, strife, terrorist activity and/or its consequences or the threat of such activity
  • health risks, infectious disease, epidemics and pandemics and government measures to combat such outbreaks
  • the act of any government or other national or local authority or the act of any airport, port or river authorities
  • unforeseeable technical problems with transport, airport, port or airspace closure restriction or congestion
  • flight or other travel restrictions imposed by any government, regulatory authority or other third party
  • industrial dispute, sanctions, lock closure
  • natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, adverse weather conditions, volcanic eruption, chemical or biological disaster and all similar events outside our or the concerned supplier’s control.
