Arrival and registration

Upon arrival, please head to the registration desks to collect your guest tickets, graduate presentation card and souvenir programmes.

If you have any questions during the day, our Open University team will be happy to help you.

Academic Dress

If you have chosen to wear academic dress for your ceremony, you can collect these from the Main Hall once you have registered. Collection will be open from 08:30 and all hired items should be returned by 13:45. You will return your robes to Room 1, First Floor. This will be clearly signposted.

Photography

The photography studios are located in the Main Hall and will be open from 08:30. Please be advised that there may be queues, so allow yourself plenty of time.

A photograph will also be taken of you when you cross the stage. This photograph will be available to purchase after the ceremony from the Ede and Ravenscroft sales desk on the First Floor and online at www.edeandravenscroft.com

The ceremony

The doors to the auditorium will open at 10:15 and the musical program will start at 10:30. You and your guests should be seated at least 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. Your ceremony is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and will be delivered in English and Welsh.

Post-ceremony drinks

After the ceremony, you and your guests are invited for a celebratory drink in Room 1 on the First Floor.

Cyrraedd a chofrestru

Pan fyddwch yn cyrraedd, ewch i'r desgiau cofrestru i gasglu eich tocynnau gwesteion, eich cerdyn cyflwyno i raddedigion a'ch cofraglen.

Os bydd unrhyw gwestiynau gennych yn ystod y dydd, bydd tîm Y Brifysgol Agored yn fwy na pharod i'ch helpu.

Gwisg Academaidd

Os ydych wedi dewis gwisgo gwisg academaidd ar gyfer eich seremoni, gallwch gasglu hon o'r Brif Neuadd ar ôl i chi gofrestru. Bydd modd casglu gwisg o 08.30 ymlaen, a dylech ddychwelyd unrhyw eitemau a gafodd eu llogi erbyn 13.45. Byddwch yn dychwelyd eich gwisg i Ystafell 1, Llawr Cyntaf. Caiff hyn ei farcio'n glir.

I gael manylion am wisg academaidd Y Brifysgol Agored, gan gynnwys sut i archebu ymlaen llaw oddi wrth ein cyflenwr cymeradwy, gweler ‘Paratoi ar gyfer eich seremoni’.

Ffotograffiaeth

Mae'r stiwdios ffotograffiaeth yn y Brif Neuadd, a byddant ar agor o 08.30 ymlaen. Cofiwch y bydd ciw o bosibl, felly dylech adael digon o amser ar gyfer hyn.

Y seremoni

Bydd drysau'r awditoriwm yn agor am 10.15 a bydd y rhaglen gerddorol yn dechrau am 10.30. Dylech chi a'ch gwesteion fod yn eich seddi o leiaf 15 munud cyn dechrau'r seremoni. Disgwylir i'ch seremoni bara tua 90 munud a chaiff ei chyflwyno yn Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg.

On the day contact

The Ceremonies Centre will be closed on the day of the ceremony, so to reach us / get a message passed to us please telephone +44 (0) 29 21 674 545.

Accessibility

The International Convention Centre is fully accessible. For full details, please visit www.iccwales.com/venue/accessibility/.

If, when making your ceremony booking, you indicated that you or any of your guests, have additional requirements you will be contacted by a member of our Wales graduation team in the weeks before your ceremony.

If you did not indicate additional requirements when booking, and need to, please contact the Wales graduation team on 029 21 674 545 or via wales-graduation@open.ac.uk, no later than 4 weeks before your ceremony.

Travel and Accommodation

There are plenty of ways to get to your ceremony, find out how to get to the venue by visiting www.iccwales.com/getting-here/. If you are driving, there is a 700-space paid car park underneath the venue (costs apply), and a further 1,300 visitor car park spaces across the Celtic Manor Resort, where the venue is located.

If you chose to stay at the resort or nearby before the ceremony you may find you can even walk to the venue. The ICC Wales is on the site of the Celtic Manor Resort and Hotel and located within a 10-minute walk of neighbouring hotels including the Holiday Inn, Premier Inn and Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor. The Celtic Manor Resort hosts various hotels on site, you can find out more by visiting www.iccwales.com/organisers/accommodation/.

Refreshments

The venue has two coffee shops located within the grounds where you will be able to purchase refreshments and light snacks. The venue also has water re-fill stations throughout. The venue’s Aspect Bar will be closed on the day of your ceremony but there are several bars in the Celtic Manor Resort which you can find out more about by visiting www.celtic-manor.com/dining/bars.

The Celtic Manor Resort has several options available for dining, drinks or afternoon tea, please visit www.iccwales.com/visitors/wine-dine/ for further information.

We would encourage you to make your reservations in advance of your ceremony day.

Cloakroom

The cloakroom is located on Floor -1. If you are using the venue’s car park, you will see the cloakroom as you make your way up to registration. Otherwise, you can take the escalators or lifts from the Atrium to Floor -1 to use the cloakroom.

Please note that large bags, pushchairs, buggies, etc. will not be permitted within the auditorium during the ceremony due to health and safety.

First Aid

If first aid assistance is required whilst at the venue, please report to a member of venue staff.

Security & emergencies

Please note it is the venue’s discretion to enforce any security measures, such as bag searches.

Should the need to evacuate arise, an announcement will be made, and venue staff will provide further instruction.
