Beggars on strike (2002)

Summary: On the streets of Lagos, in a context of unemployment, poverty and helplessness, beggars form an association and pressure the government for a ministry of beggars. When refused, they go on strike and throw the whole nation into confusion, forcing church leaders, government ministers, wealthy businessmen and women liberation movement to beg them for mercy. A strong satire of 419 fraud, social injustice and institutionalised begging, proposing the sharing of wealth as a solution to national problems.

Summary: the pranks of the dwarf twin boys, aimed at discouraging their mother’s boyfriend from visiting her after their father death, and at fighting for their rights after their younger brother’s return from Togo. They eventually wed the twin daughters of the Commissioner, against the wishes of the girls’ parents. A plead for equal rights & opportunities.
