This one-day workshop introduced the programme cohort to the variety of commissioning processes and timetables involved in television, radio and the printed/online press. The workshops included presentations and Q & A sessions with representatives from television, radio and the press as well as academics who have successfully worked with the media.
Speakers were: Annabel Hobley, television producer; Zahid Warley, BBC Radio 3 producer; Chris Williams, Senior Lecturer in History, The Open University; Pamela Cox, Senior Lecturer in Criminology, University of Essex; Brett Mills, Senior Lecturer in Film, Television and Media Studies, University of East Anglia; Helene Murphy, Open University Press Officer.

Chris Williams, Pam Cox and Brett Mills reflected on their own personal experiences of radio, television and press collaboration. The session aimed to set out of for the cohort what they need to think about when preparing to discuss their work on TV, radio or in print.
