Deadline for applications for the Studentship: 1st September 2022
Masters (full or part time) starting February 2023
We are now working with Staffordshire Police who have kindly offered to support Masters level students working with the Centre for Policing Research and Learning. They are willing to provide funding of up to £2000 per student (up to 2 funded places).
Eligibility
Student(s) studying a full-time postgraduate degree or a part-time (approaching the research element of their course) postgraduate degree in any subject agreed by Staffordshire Police which directly relates to policing can be considered for this award. Places on an MPhil at the Open University within the Faculty of Business and Law (supervised within CPRL and the Policing Degrees team) are available that meet these requirements.
Requirements
Offers of places on MPhil programmes are entirely at the discretion of the Open university admissions team. However, to qualify for the additional funding Staffordshire police must approve the offer of the award. In addition, successful candidates will present the results of their research to the force in person or another means agreed. Candidates will also deliver a report and executive summary of their research, as well as a copy of their submitted research to the force.
Interested candidates are therefore invited to submit proposals for Masters level research (M Phil), either full time or part time, on themes related to policing. For any enquiries about these opportunities please contact the Centre at OUPC@open.ac.uk
Applications must be made using the existing postgraduate research application form (on this link), including a research proposal found here. This form must be emailed to FBL-PHD@open.ac.uk and copied to OUPC@open.ac.uk
