Sarah Crafter: Contestation at the borderlands between migration, childhood and care: An exploration of child language brokers and lone child migrants

In this talk, Sarah Crafter draws on her work with child language brokers and separated child migrants to argue that when psychology is ‘OPEN’ to viewing childhood through a critical-developmental lens, we can better understand the richness and complexities of diverse childhoods. In particular, she looks at the intersection between migration, childhood and care to show the kinds of contributions and resources young people bring to the lives of others following migration to a new country.
