On March 13th, 2024, Dr Fidèle Mutwarasibo, Director of CVSL, attended and spoke at a conference hosted by Balbriggan Integration Forum.

Fidèle's contribution titled: Is Integration an End State? What are the Manifestations of Good Integration?

In his presentation, he shared his insights into the integration, inclusion, diversity, and belongingness terminology. In the final part of his presentation, he covered what he had learned from his research (with the Centre for Voluntary Sector Team) on racialised minority network leaders' engagements and collaboration with service providers in the United Kingdom.

Mainstreaming migrants' integration entails full access to services available to the public. Mainstreaming integration can only work if the services are open and accessible and front-line workers are interculturally competent. Fidèle is developing a typology of service providers' leadership allyship through an auto-ethnographic account. At the conference, he discussed types of allyship, including vacuous, performative, symbolic, substantive/authentic, and emancipatory allyship.

Balbriggan Integration Forum welcomed voluntary sector representatives (including migrant and refugee networks) and public and private sector representatives.
