Abstract
In her seminar, Dr Sara de Jong will draw together two research projects she has conducted in the last 10 years:

  • A project on women NGO workers working on gender issues across North-South divides
  • A project on refugee, migrant and ethnic minority staff in the migration third sector in the UK, Austria and the Netherlands.

She will focus on the ways in which the NGO workers negotiated their professional and personal identities – in the context of identity and diversity politics – as well as the professionalisation of the NGO sector.
