Research Match-Making and Introduction to HEIF

Wed, 14 December 2016, 12:00 to 14:00

Charles Pinfold, Pinfold Level 4, OU, Milton Keynes

NB Please note change of venue

All researchers at the OU are welcome to join our research methods 'speed dating' event. The session will provide an informal opportunity to learn more about the work of colleagues and to identify and explore synergies that might lead to future collaboration.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with one another – in a series of two-minute 'dates' – matters including:

  • Research methods
  • Data sources/research participants
  • Knowledge exchange and impact-related activities.

Afterwards there will be an opportunity to engage in more in-depth discussions over lunch, which is provided.

From 12:00 - 13.00, Denise Pasquet (Research and Academic Strategy) will also give a brief presentation on the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) and explore ways in which academics from an arts and social sciences background can access its funding to support knowledge-exchange activities. The session will thus be an excellent opportunity for those engaged in research to learn from previous successful applications and to explore how they in turn might be supported to maximise the impact of their work.

To reserve your place, or to let us know of any dietary requirements, please contact Lynne Fahey by Thursday 8 December 2016.
