Transforming Economies for Employment Generation

24 November 2016

Although economies in sub-Saharan Africa continue to grow, employment remains dominated by agriculture with insufficient jobs being generated to address the youth bulge. In October, the DEGRP and AERC conference Economic Opportunities for a Better Future: Leveraging Agriculture, Innovation and Financial Inclusion was held in Nairobi to explore solutions.

Along with George Owusu Essegbey (Director CSIR-STEPRI, Ghana) and Gituro Wainaina (Professor of Business, University of Nairobi; Former Director-General, Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat), IKD Director Maureen Mackintosh took part in the panel Transforming Economies for Employment Generation: The Role of Industrial Policy.
