Overview

In this session, we will provide an overview of the Open University approval procedures that are required when conducting a scholarship project. 

These processes can often feel daunting, especially for those new to research.  Therefore, we will guide you through the procedure and the factors you need to consider when submitting an application.  

Learning objectives

To understand:

  • The Student Research Project Panel (SRPP) application process
  • The Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) review process
  • The correct procedure for storing and handling data – Data Protection  

About the facilitators

Diane Butler and Trevor Collins are the Directors of eSTEeM and have extensive backgrounds in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
