This presentation will give an overview of the recent history of the ‘De-colonising the Curriculum’ movement and its relevance for the Open University. While many attempts to ‘decolonise the curriculum’ have focused on the social sciences and humanities curriculum, this presentation will focus on why ‘decolonising the curriculum’ is important to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). It will draw on examples from reproductive justice and environmental science. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the Inclusive Curriculum Tool.

Facilitated by Dr Jenny Douglas, Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies (WELS)
