Free interactive toolkit for STEM returners

8th March 2016

OpenLearn, the home of free learning from the Open University has a brilliant new resource for those returning to STEM careers.

Working with academics Dr Katie Chicot and Dr Clem Herman (eSTEeM Co-Director), OpenLearn has developed ‘Reboot Your STEM Career’ - a comprehensive interactive toolkit to help those returning to STEM careers to relaunch their career and navigate their way back into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. It will help users build on areas such as work-life balance, professional skills, entering the world of work, how to present themselves, searching for jobs and how to network.

Whilst the toolkit is mainly aimed at women, it would be useful to anyone thinking of returning to a STEM career after a break. Users create an account and login, allowing them to return to their action plan as and when they need.

Please feel free to link to and share the resource, the link to use is - http://www.open.edu/openlearn/stemreboot.

Users can also register their interest for a Badged Open Course (BOC) coming to OpenLearn in the next few months - ‘Returning To STEM’.
