Emma Crichton

Emma is a designer, chartered civil engineer and passionate advocate for globally responsible engineering, with six years’ experience in the Scottish Water industry. Having worked in both design offices and on construction sites, Emma now works with Engineers Without Borders UK where she is Head of Engineering. 

Emma works at Engineers Without Borders UK whose mission is to upskill over 250,000 people by 2030 to be equipped with the skills and expertise to be globally responsible. They aim to support the development of professionals and university students.

• For professionals: We have recently released a Compass that points busy practitioners at the skills they need to stay relevant and provides real learning opportunities and ways to develop themselves.

• For university students: With colleagues and partners around the world, Engineers Without Borders UK helps shape modules within degree courses at a pivotal part of university degrees. Since 2011 Engineers Without Borders UK have reached over 70,000 undergraduates. They train educators, leaders, organisations, and teams to build their skills and capacity.

Emma is a regular facilitator and has created various programmes and activities. She has written a number of thought pieces and has been interviewed on podcasts. She recently participated in a Regenerative Design Lab, run by Constructivist.
