We are delighted to announce the publication of a new book Deciphering Earth's History: the Practice of Stratigraphy. The book is a practical guide to using the rock record to decipher the timing, rate and duration of events in Earth history.
The book is co-authored and edited by one of our professors, Angela Coe. Angela produced the book with members of the Stratigraphy Commission of the Geological Society, London and other invited colleagues. Further information can be found at: https://www.geolsoc.org.uk/GIP001.
This volume also launches a new innovative book series, Geoscience on Practice, by the Geological Society of London. The aim of the series is to capture and communicate geoscience methods for the community and next generation of geoscientists in an easy to use and accessible format. The series will be edited by Angela who can be contacted for further information.
On 22 November Professors Clare Warren, Mark Brandon and Richard Holliman, and Dr Barbara Kunz travelled to Manchester for an OU Graduation Ceremony.
An EEES researcher is leading a new Natural Environmental Research Council-funded project to improve our ability to predict climate change using cutting-edge analysis of fossilised algae molecules.
