New Interim Director for the OU in Wales

Following the retirement last week of Louise Casella, the OU in Wales has appointed a new Interim Director. David Price will lead the team in Wales whilst recruitment for the substantive post is filled.

David is an independent management consultant, executive coach and interim manager who works primarily with tertiary education organisations. He formerly spent 25 years working for a number of UK universities and non-governmental departmental bodies in strategic planning and policy roles. His last permanent role was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Performance) at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

During the last 12 months David has been the interim Chief Executive of Colegau Cymru/Colleges Wales (the representative body for the further education sector in Wales), provided consultancy services for Universities Wales (the representative body for higher sector in Wales), the University of South Wales and the British University in Egypt, served as an independent member of Cardiff Council’s Governance and Audit Committee and acted as a charity trustee.

I am delighted to join the Open University. Knowing the important role that the OU plays in the educational landscape in Wales and the positive impact it has on students and communities across the country, I am really looking forward to working with colleagues to build on the positive outcomes achieved over the last few years.
