Private sector

We work with many organisations within the private sector to provide business solutions. Our work includes delivering training to the staff of 77 of FTSE 100 companies.

Here are just some of the organisations with which we’ve worked to date:

  • PDS is a leading IT and business apprenticeship consultancy. We’ve worked with them to develop the Visa Apprenticeship programme.
  • The Football League Trust partnered with us to develop the BA (Hons) Business Management (Sport and Football) qualification.
  • BT Group, IBM, KPMG and DXC Technology have all consulted with us to provide flexible solutions that allow staff to study around busy work schedules and apply practice-based learning to the workplace.
  • Lloyds Banking Group and John Lewis have also benefited from our training solutions.

Whether your business objective relates to improving staff performance, addressing skills shortages, developing talent, increasing retention or something else, we have an L&D solution to meet these targets.

“The Open University has got a proven track record for delivering skills and knowledge to a business environment that works. It’s flexible and the OU has had 50 years of delivering this type of material and it really enables employees to fit their learning around a busy work schedule.

“We found with some universities were quite rigid in how they deliver their business. That does become problematic in the long run, and so for employees who are mid-career, we find the OU to be very beneficial in that respect.”

Paul Milner, Senior Early Professionals Manager, IBM
