Be part of the OpenTree adventure!

[[[image-0 medium right]]]OpenTree is an exciting and innovative way to explore and share online resources and webpages from the OU Library.

If you would like to go on an adventure into the world of the online library … and make some friends along the way, then why not try out OpenTree?

The site will help you find and make friends with students and staff with similar interests to your own. You’ll get a chance to review and recommend the resources you’re using, and to see what your friends are looking at.

You can use the OpenTree Challenges to find resources and webpages that you might not know about, and activities designed to help you build up your digital and information literacy skills.

OpenTree also helps you to keep track of the resources and webpages you’re accessing, and makes it easy for you to find useful resources again quickly.

Over the last two months many students and staff have been exploring OpenTree and telling us what they think. The feedback has been extremely positive, and we’ve even had suggestions on how we can improve the site in the future.

“I like the way it can kick start a journey of discovery. […] I get so caught up in the day-to-day of my specific modules, that I often forget about the library resources available, […].
Having OpenTree available will, hopefully, remind me of the wealth of academic papers available and keep me motivated in researching areas of my own interest alongside my chosen specialism.”
