Our work

As a distance learning provider, partnership working enables us to reach out to even more people who may benefit from studying with The Open University in Wales. We work with community groups, employers, trade unions, schools and colleges and other partners to make higher education accessible to all.

Helping you to help your adult learners

Find out about new financial support for students in Wales and use our resources to spread the word to the people you work with.

Degree Apprenticeships in Wales

The Open University’s Applied Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship programme equips apprentices with the knowledge, skills and behavioural characteristics required to be a competent software engineering professional.

In the community

Our work in the community focuses on those who are traditionally under-represented in higher education, such as those living in Communities First areas, carers and disabled people.

Colleagues working

We work with employers to provide flexible, accredited, solutions to enhancing skills and developing the workforce. We also have a longstanding relationship with trade unions across Wales to offer higher education to union members.
