With 175,000 students worldwide, living in 125 different countries, The Open University has a first class reputation in delivering innovate supported distance learning.

But our wider remit is just as compelling. The OU is committed to equality in education and social justice. Since 1995 we have been working across the world on building sustainable, innovative international development programmes.

Driven by the International Development Office, these programmes span countries including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, and include huge successes such as TESSA - the teacher education programme in sub-Saharan Africa which has helped reach over 800,000 teachers.
