Content Rules

Content Rules has been providing simplified-English services for Translators without Borders, free of charge, for almost two years. Together, they are now working with HEAT to simplify the language in the HEAT Modules and to create a more generic set of resources. These resources can then easily be adapted for use across sub-Saharan Africa and translated into other languages, including Swahili.

Content Rules provides consulting guidance and professional services to companies across the entire content lifecycle. Their consulting practice specialises in content strategy, structured authoring, new publishing technologies and global readiness.

As a preferred partner of the leading content optimisation software Acrolinx, a team of Content Rules' senior simplified-English experts are using this sophisticated linguistic software to review the first five HEAT Modules. The HEAT learning resources contain approximately 1,500 pages (375,000 words) and, to date, Content Rules have revised more than half of the materials. The OU is delighted to be working with Content Rules and TWB on this project.
