HEAT is working with Medical Aid Films (MAF), an organisation that aims to save the lives of women and children in developing countries through innovative training and education. Working with the Pharo Foundation (amongst others), MAF produces culturally appropriate health education films and animations that highlight best practice.

670 individuals and organisations are already using MAF’s films to train health workers in low resource settings. We are now partnering with MAF to integrate the films into HEAT's maternal and child health modules; we believe that their use will create more meaningful, effective and richer learning opportunities for health workers.

The films offer a low cost, highly scalable and sustainable method of uniting interventions to produce maximum effect. Working together with MAF, HEAT will promote these free, open source multimedia materials through our existing projects and networks, so they can be used by training institutions, health educators and individuals across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
