Internationally-renowned statistician Professor Hans Rosling asks whether it’s possible to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030 in a one-hour BBC programme made in partnership with The Open University.

Don’t Panic: How to End Poverty in 15 Years considers whether the goal set by the United Nations (UN) of wiping out ‘extreme poverty’ for almost one billion people living on $1 a day is achievable.

Professor Rosling is one of the world’s most influential speakers, offering an eye-opening, engaging way of interacting with his audience, including a presentation style packed with data.  For Don’t Panic he brings to life the key target of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by combining powerful statistics with dramatic human stories from Africa and Asia.

Don’t Panic was commissioned by The Open University Open Media Unit (OMU) and is supported by academics from the Faculty of Maths, Computing and Technology (MCT), the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health and Social Care (HSC).
