Save the Children - Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

This course will introduce you the main MEAL concepts and practices. It has been developed for a variety of programme staff, senior management team members and thematic staff within Save the Children, recognizing that learners will have different prior knowledge and focus areas. These materials are specifically designed for independent self-directed learning. The course is composed of 18 sessions. The whole course takes 30 hours to complete.

Diagramming for development 1 - Bounding realities

This is a free course that introduces you to the systems diagramming techniques of Rich pictures, Spray diagrams and Systems maps. Using a case study project based in Africa, the course illustrates the use of powerful use of systems diagramming for international development management. This course takes 4 hours to complete

Diagramming for development 2 - Exploring interrelationships

Diagramming for development 2 - Exploring interrelationships, is a free course that introduces you to the diagramming techniques of Influence diagrams, Multiple Cause Diagrams and Cognitive Maps. Using a case study project based in Africa, this unit illustrates the powerful use of systems diagramming for international development management. This course takes 4 hours to complete.

Understanding international development

This course introduces and explores international development by considering the three themes referred to as PASH - Power and Agency, Scale and History, and programmes to promote livelihoods. This course provides 20 hours of study.

Introducing international development management

If you wonder why, when so much development action is taking place, life seems to stay so bad for so many people and you want to be involved in managing development better, this free course, Introducing international development management, is for you. This course provides 40 hours of study.

Evidence for Development Professionals

This course will help you to understand how research is done, how to analyse results and findings, and make recommendations to better inform your development interventions.

PG Cert Global Development Management

This postgraduate qualification addresses the complexities of development and will help you build the skills needed to manage these challenges. This course is at post graduate level, and is 40 weeks in duration. The UK course fee is £2950 (higer fees apply for students living outside the UK).
