Accessibility compliance

Fingers typing on a braille display keyboardWe are committed to ensuring the accessibility of every site and system we are responsible for. This means that we strive to make them accessible to everyone, including people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities. We regularly audit our systems, in line with UK accessibility legislation. Every site and system should comply with W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, to a standard of WCAG 2.1 AA.

When any student or public-facing site or system is audited, a statement is written. Wherever possible the statement is embedded in the system itself, or alternatively, it is provided on the Library Services website. This means the statement is always available to all users.

For staff-only systems, once an audit is completed, it may not be possible to embed the statement in the system. However, it is always made available to staff. For more details, please visit our Accessibility Support intranet page (staff login required).
