About the Digital Archive
The OU Digital Archive has the dual purpose of helping to preserve the University’s archive materials, as well as providing online access to selected materials.
The Open University Archive contains materials of many different types and formats. The site has been designed to describe and provide access to a range of these materials, including archived websites, audio and video programmes, images and text-based items. Further types of materials may be added in the future as the archive grows.
Due to copyright and other intellectual property restrictions, not all content within the Digital Archive can be viewed by all audiences. While OU staff will have the widest access to digital content, some materials have been cleared to provide a “taster of the History of the OU” to everyone.
To find out about the available materials in the Digital Archive, go to the collections tab and browse the available collections, or view the content featured on the home page, including online exhibitions.
Not all University Archive content is available on the Digital Archive, to find out about other archive collections visit the OU Archive web pages.
If you would like to re-use Digital Archive material please refer to the Open University Conditions of Use.
