Description
Berkeley expounds his argument about the perception of heat in his first Dialogue between two imaginary characters, Hylas and Philonous. In it Hylas is persuaded to admit that the heat of a fire ex...ists only in the mind perceiving it. This programme is a new dialogue written by Godfrey Vesey, Professor of Philosophy at the Open University. It takes up the story on the day following Berkeley's original dialogue and allows Hylas for once to win.
