Description
Ronald Levin's talk on the poetry of the First War aims at correcting some of the assumptions and oversimplifications that are usually made about the war literature. It should be seen not as a deve...loping pattern but rather as describing a series of individual experiences. All the war poetry was characterised by the youthfulness of the writers and the innocent immediacy of their response. Its force derives from its vivid communication of the nature of war.
