Description
The programme takes a look at one school, a mixed comprehensive school established in 1968. After a brief introduction from John Raynor, two statements, from the Head and the senior mistress, bring... the student's attention to a conflict of concern between the individual personal development of the pupil and his need for qualification. During the remainder of the programme the student listener hears statements made by teachers, pupils and parents and he is asked to examine them in the light of this conflict.
